Extra: iam8bit Does Street Fighter

Capcom is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Street Fighter with the help of its most artistic fans. On Friday, Capcom and video game art collective iam8bit kicked off Street Fighter’s 25th Anniversary with the opening of a new fan art exhibit at the iam8bit gallery in Los Angeles. Appropriately titled “Combo Attack”, the exhibit features the works of over fifty different artists and spans all the core Street Fighter games.

We were lucky enough to attend the gallery’s opening event, which featured a live DJ, free drinks, a ton of Street Fighter fans, and of course, the art. From dioramas to hand-stitched portraits, there was truly a lot of great and diverse artwork to see! Below, we have included photos of some of our favorites.

Needless to say, if you are a fan of the Street Fighter series, this exhibit is worth checking out. Combo Attack will be on display until August 17th at the iam8bit gallery. If you’re in the Los Angeles area, go and pay homage to the franchise that single handily triggered the fighting game genre’s boom, bust, and current renaissance.
