Episode 84: Back on Track

Ready, set, download. The first DLC pack for Mario Kart 8 is now available, and in this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, we share our full impressions of the expansion. Before hitting the track, however, we discuss a multitude of news from the Nintendo Direct that brought us Majora’s Mask 3D and fresh Splatoon details to Nintendo’s investor Q&A full of Amiibo and QOL teases. Plus, we break down October’s sales numbers and share our take on the newly released Pikmin Short Movies.

    I love the new Mario Kart DLC! Given the quality and variety of the tracks I’d being willing to say its the best example of DLC ever done.

      1. I completely agree. Nintendo shipped a 100% complete, non-buggy game, filled with content. And the very inexpensive DLC they offered was just a bonus. It took nothing away from the content or quality of the original. Its more like the cherry on top.

        While it’d be wonderful to see more companies follow Nintendo’s lead in terms of DLC, I doubt they will. Most companies don’t seem to share Nintendo’s respect for their customers.
