  1. Hi Jason and Angel (or Jose, whichever you prefer.)

Great podcast as always. I really do love the show and appreciate all the hard work and dedication you put in. I have to thank you too, you’ve encouraged me to believe in Nintendo again, I’ve been a bit up and down with how I feel about them lately. (They just have made a few decisions I really haven’t been a fan of.) Your segment about the difference in Nintendo’s staff/employees/developers and other companies inability to hold on to talent is a testament to Nintendo’s developer environment. So I do have to give them credit where credit is due.

Oh and I’m happy to mention that I did manage to get all the Wave 4 Amiibo(s) I wanted, or at least sans Jigglypuff. I got Ness, Charizard, Pac-Man, Robin, Lucina, and the Splatoon Amiibo 3-pack. That admittedly did make me feel a little better about them, as stupid as it sounds given that their lack of Amiibo production caused the problems to begin with. Anyways, I’m really happy and feel lucky to have gotten my Amiibo. I actually got a call from the GameStop corporate office and they offered them to me along with a big apology for the insane Amiibo ordering process, so kudos to them.

Anyways, I’m really looking forward to Xenoblade Chronicles X. Though I don’t think they should have called the recent presentation a Nintendo Direct, the main focus was a couple minute video. And it is very MMO in play style, the first Xenoblade on Wii used very positional fighting, hence Shulk’s “back-slash” and aggro pulling for Reyn. All very MMO in terms of the battle system, the game looks great too or at least if you kind of ignore some of the character models.

Splatoon looks great too. I did enjoy the “Global Test Fire” it makes me interested to see how the final product turns out. Since it was beta some of it felt missing of course, but that’s absolutely to be expected. That said, I’m really loving the idea/concept of the game. Did you guys play the beta? You’d said you’d played the game at events in the past too, correct? Was the beta like the demo version you’ve already played?

I’m really happy with the Mario Kart 8 DLC and I’m fine with the Smash Bros. character DLC. I’m just completely against the costume (microtransaction) type.

Last thing, to do a complete turn around it’s 180 degrees. When I go off a jump facing downhill and land turned around (switch) I’ve rotated 180 degrees and am facing uphill. Conversely, to do a 360 rotation would have me starting facing downhill a full rotation and land facing downhill. Hence, 360 rotations are 360, 720, 1080, 1440. And half-180 rotations are 180,540, 900, 1260. (Sorry, just wanted to help. Hope that was okay.)

Anyways, fantastic show as always, you guys really help me keep the Nintendo faith, thanks so much! Looking forward to the next episode already!

PS – Are you excited for E3?

    1. Thanks as always for listening and commenting, Satoshi! I’m glad to hear you were able to get almost all of the Amiibo you wanted. I’m actually kind of surprised that GameStop reached out to you directly – that’s very cool of them. I’ve preordered most of the Amiibo I want, but I’m still trying to figure out what to do about Ness. I have an Amazon UK order on indefinite hold until more stock is confirmed, so maybe I’ll just cross my fingers and see what happens with that.

I really enjoyed the Splatoon Testfire, too. It was pretty different from what we previously played. I believe the demo we tried at WonderCon in April was the old E3 2014 demo, so with the exception of the splatter gun weapon option, I don’t think any part of the beta was the same. Different maps, different weapons, etc. We’ll be talking about it pretty in depth in our next episode, but in a nutshell, it just got me that much more excited for the full game.

And speaking of excitement, I always love E3. This year may be a bit odd though since Nintendo already confirmed they won’t show their big projects. No next-gen NX console, no Zelda for Wii U, and no smartphone games. It leaves me really curious to see what they’ll actually show. They could have a ton of surprises or it could be a total bust… Then again, we may have a better idea by the time you read this. Nintendo’s announcing its E3 plans at 9 AM PT tomorrow (and we’ll of course discuss them in our next episode).

Lastly, thanks for that 180/360 clarification. You’d think we’d be able to handle that simple math, but apparently not. 😛
