Episode 98: Stretch Goals
We’re in the home stretch to E3 2015, so it’s only fitting to cover a game all about stretching. In this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, we do just that with our full impressions of Stretchmo. We first kick off the show with an assortment of pre-E3 news, including a new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon for 3DS and the resurfacing of Art Academy on Wii U. We then turn our attention to Amiibo, telling our harrowing tales from Wave 4’s launch and exploring the potential dangers of Amiibo-exclusive content. Our focus then shifts to the world of tournament play as we discuss the Nintendo World Championships qualifiers and general attitudes about so-called “right” and “wrong” ways to play a game. From there, it’s all about the eShop as we talk about the unexpected Nintendo Humble Bundle and conclude the show with Stretchmo.

Episode 165: Is That A Campsite In Your Pocket?
Hey Jason and Angel.
I’m sorry I haven’t gotten a chance to stop by before now to thank you for another great podcast, I really enjoyed the show! I’ve been traveling a lot.
Anyways, I’m really glad to hear you both got most, if not all of the Wave 4 Amiibo(s) you were after. That’s great to hear. Jason did you ever decide what to do about your Ness pre-order? (Oh and I’m going to say anything negative this time around, I feel bad for having been so negative as of late.)
I’m still enjoying Splatoon and am really excited for E3 and all the Nintendo events just under 48 hours away. Its crazy to think Nintendo seems to have the biggest E3 event/platform this year, it makes me really happy. Kicking off with Mr. Sakurai’s Smash “Direct” on Sunday to the big “Digital Event” on Tuesday morning. I just feel a little bad for them that some of thier news was already leaked, I am a big fan of Hyrule Warriors though.
Anyways, great show as always. I can’t wait to hear your take on Nintendo’s big week. Oh last thing, Jason you always mention you’re from Montana, where about? I currently live in Montana, so I totally understood your Hastings reference.

I decided to just leave my Ness amiibo as is. If Amazon UK is able to eventually fulfill the order, great. If not, that’s okay too. I’ve been kind of haphazardly collecting all my Amiibo, so if I end up not getting a Ness, it’s not too big of a deal. Were you ever able to get your Jigglypuff?
I’m also super excited for E3. I always love this time of year because of the onslaught of news it brings, although it’s kind of interesting how Nintendo’s been staggering its announcements over the past few weeks – even excluding the Hyrule Warriors leak. They used to save everything for one press event and now they’re giving each game some breathing room. It’s a smart move.
What a funny coincidence about Montana! I grew up in Missoula. Where are you living?

I hope someday, somehow, you can get your Ness Amiibo. Its still absolutely insane how much you have to fight/hunt for the ones you want. And its not like we’re trying to re-sell them or anything, their one we actually want to play with. Its funny you should mention Jigglypuff too, I actually ordered one out of Japan this afternoon for $27. Which, yes that’s not great, but I’m glad to at the very least be able to get one. (Heaven knows they’ll never be at Target again.)
It is good that Nintendo allows some room between their announcements, not only does it allow each game a little bit of the “lime-light,” but helps them generally build a good PR base with both the press and fans. And let’s be frank, anything Nintendo can do to promote just how absolutely top-tier their games are, well more power to them! Oh and I can’t wait to try Ryu in Smash Bros. tomorrow morning!
Its funny you lived in Missoula, I live in Kalispell (not too far away). I thought it was a funny coincidence too, not too many people are from/have lived in Montana.
Turns out Amazon UK just emailed me about the Ness amiibo and said it should ship in mid-July. So I guess that solves that mystery. Glad to hear you were able to order a Jigglypuff, even if it cost a bit more than it should have.
