Episode 117: In a Jam
This is one jam-packed episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast – and no, it’s not just because we have full impressions of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam closing out the show. Between the slew of news, rumors, and a certain baritone-voiced Pikachu, this episode has something for everyone. We start things off with all the big stories from Nintendo’s recent investor meeting, including a breakdown of their latest financials and fresh details on the oncoming My Nintendo program and Miitomo. We then focus on what wasn’t discussed, namely the ever-mysterious (and now shelved?) Quality of Life product as well as fresh rumors about both the NX and a certain “Smash” hit that may launch alongside it. From there, we run through a variety of news including reports of Mother 3 finally coming Stateside, yet another delay for Mighty No. 9, and the strange world of Detective Pikachu.
Have you played Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam? What would your dream NX launch title be? Tell us what you think in the comments below. Hey Jason, Angel, and Elvis.
Sorry for the delayed comment, things have been really crazy lately.
Anyways, really enjoyed the show! Thank you so much for another great podcast, all your hard is really appreciated! I really enjoyed and appreciated the breakdown of Nintendo’s 3rd-quarter financials. Perhaps the biggest thing I got from it was that Nintendo needs to release the NX in 2016. Its time now.
Oh and thinking about the “million-sellers” I wonder if the new 3-variations of Fire Emblem Fates will be counted in the next report as 1 game or 3. Because I imagine you could have a 2 or 3 million seller if you put all three games under the Fire Emblem banner. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. I sincerely hope that Fates sells well, I’d like to see the series continue.
Well thanks again for a great show!
Thanks as always, Satoshi!
It looks like Nintendo has gone the route of reporting all versions of Fire Emblem Fates as a single game. They just announced today that Fates as a single entity has already sold over 300,000 copies in the US. It’s basically the same reporting scheme they use when lumping together sales of different Pokemon versions, like when they claim that X & Y together are the top-selling 3DS game.
