Episode 125: The Movie Game
There’s something about movies. Whether it’s Angry Birds this month or Mortal Kombat twenty years ago, the allure of turning video games into feature films is apparently too hard to resist. With Nintendo now getting in on the act, we’re using this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast to explore exactly what it is that makes video game movies turn out so badly and how Nintendo can overcome that curse. Of course, there’s plenty of other news to discuss too, including fresh details on Pokemon Go and Yooka-Laylee, some positive E3 2016 news, and even more new 3DS game announcements from Nintendo. All that, plus we reflect on two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle games in honor of next week’s release of TMNT: Out of the Shadows.
What do you think is key to a successful video game movie? Let us know in the comment section below.
