Episode 161: Playing with Super Power
When a podcast is headlined by the Super NES, Star Fox 2, and a Nintendo World Championship, it’s hard to tell if it’s 2017 or the 90s. But rest assured, this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast is as modern as they come. The show begins with an in-depth discussion of last week’s Nintendo World Championships and its news, including the next ARMS update and a final peek at Super Mario Odyssey. We then turn our attention to the real star of the show, the SNES Classic. We share impressions of the hardware, the software, and yes, the 21-years-in-the-making Star Fox 2. The impressions don’t stop there as we then dive into Switch’s SteamWorld Dig 2, Binaries, and the upcoming Spelunker Party. Plus, Jason accepts his fate for losing last episode’s Smash Bros. bet and licks three Switch cartridges back to back (complete with a video you can find below).
What’s your favorite game in the SNES Classic library? And perhaps more importantly, what’s your stance on licking cartridges?
