Episode 129: Comic-Con Resurgence
Get ready for a one-two punch of nerdom and nostalgia. In this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, we report back from San Diego Comic-Con 2016 with our takes on all the show had to offer. We tell of our adventures on the floor, and dive deep into three key parts of the ‘Con that put nostalgia front and center. First, we kick things off with Pokemon, discussing Pokemon Go’s impact and its panel in Comic-Con’s legendary Hall H, before turning our attention to future Pokemon projects like Sun & Moon and the surprise reveal of a Detective Pikachu movie. We then jump from the pop culture resurgence of Pokemon to the retro revival of the NES with our thoughts on the newly announced NES Classic Edition, which was shown for the first time in San Diego. From there, it’s all Sega as we weigh in on Sonic The Hedgehog’s two 25th anniversary games and go hands-on with the upcoming Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice for 3DS. Plus, a look at June sales numbers.
