Episode 132: The Force is Strong
The 3DS has gone intergalactic with Metroid Prime: Federation Force and we’re right there with it. In this episode of the Random Nintendo Podcast, we share our impressions of the controversial co-op spin-off, plus revisit another riff on a classic with Super Mario 64 DS. First, however, we break down all the big news from this past Thursday’s surprise Nintendo Direct, weighing in on everything from the Wii U-to-3DS ports of Super Mario Maker and Yoshi’s Woolly World to entirely new games like Mario Sports Superstars and Pikmin for 3DS. We also examine what the news from this latest Direct means beyond just the games, both for the future of the 3DS and Nintendo’s 2017 as a whole.

Hello my friends!
Its been far too long, I’m so very sorry for that. My life’s been in a bit of an upheaval of late, so I haven’t had the opportunity to listen to the show. I just got to listen to this episode though and I’m excited to be able to listen to the show regularly again. I wanted to thank you for all the time and effort you put into it every time. I hope you all are doing well!
The last Nintendo Direct really did make me feel that the 3DS does have some life left in it. And I totally agree that its a GBA/DS situation. Frankly, I’m still really excited for some upcoming 3DS games. Ever Oasis and Dragon Quest VIII chief among them.
I also agree with you that this was the “look its still okay to buy a 3DS-press event.” And then the next time we hear from Nintendo its going to be all-NX. (On that note, its time for a real name.) That said, we’ve all called it NX for so long, I actually don’t mind if its just the Nintendo NX.
Oh and don’t feel bad about giving back into the Amiibo addiction/sickness, I did too. I have all the 30th Anniversary Zelda ones ordered and the Poochy one as well.
Thank you for your impressions of Federation Force, you actually changed my opinion/impression of what I thought the game was.
Well thank you again for a great show! Looking forward to the next one!
I feel like I now owe you the same apology for taking so long to reply – it’s been rather hectic as of late! I hope everything is now okay on your end, and thanks as always for your kind words. It’s also good to know I’m not the only one slipping back into an Amiibo addiction. 😉
